When something this monumental happens, you have to go home and lead the way!
Casey Affleck has returned to Massachusetts in support of an animal cruelty bill currently making its way through the state legislature.
The actor, who is vegan and a HUGE animal rights activist, is throwing his weight behind the Massachusetts Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act, a bill that will outlaw inhumane treatment of animals at factory farms.
We’re happier than a cow in the wide open plains about this move!
Casey states the following about the importance of the bill:
Americans don’t see these things (animal cruelty) all that often, but if you YouTube them, they’re brutal and immoral. I know there are a lot of issues – children shooting children, people without jobs, education, health care – but I think we can address multiple issues at the same time.
Casey hand-wrote a letter supporting the bill and delivered it to the State House himself; he also hopes to discuss the bill with state lawmakers.
