Marvel is clearly listening to the cries of millions of fans with the announcement of a Black Panther movie.
It’s been over a decade since the Blade films, and not since 2008’s Hancock has a blockbuster superhero film featured a black leading man.

And Marvel announcing a talented actor like Chadwick Boseman to play him can’t hurt!
But who is Chadwick Boseman? And who the heck is Black Panther??

The Black Panther doesn’t have any natural superpowers. He consumes a sacred herb that enhances his well-trained body to superhuman levels.
He also uses advanced technology and a genius intellect. Kind of Captain America meets Batman.

In the film 42, he scored as baseball great Jackie Robinson.

The Black Panther, whose real name is T’Challa, is the ruler of the fictional African country of Wakanda. Hidden away from the rest of the world, the tiny nation quietly became a superpower, in many ways more technologically advanced than the US.
Wakanda is also the only place on Earth where they mine vibranium- the unbreakable stuff Captain America’s shield is made of.
