Marvel is clearly listening to the cries of millions of fans with the announcement of a Black Panther movie.
It’s been over a decade since the Blade films, and not since 2008’s Hancock has a blockbuster superhero film featured a black leading man.

And Marvel announcing a talented actor like Chadwick Boseman to play him can’t hurt!

Brain Power
The Black Panther doesn’t have any natural superpowers. He consumes a sacred herb that enhances his well-trained body to superhuman levels.
He also uses advanced technology and a genius intellect. Kind of Captain America meets Batman.
The Biopic Man
While his own star may be on the rise, thus far Chadwick Boseman is known primarily for playing other famous people.
In the film 42, he scored as baseball great Jackie Robinson.
In Get On Up, he showed his musical talents as James Brown.
Country Boy
The Black Panther, whose real name is T’Challa, is the ruler of the fictional African country of Wakanda. Hidden away from the rest of the world, the tiny nation quietly became a superpower, in many ways more technologically advanced than the US.
Wakanda is also the only place on Earth where they mine vibranium- the unbreakable stuff Captain America’s shield is made of.
The Pen Is Mightier Than The Claw
Chadwick began his film career trying to break in as a writer. His play Deep Azure received critical acclaim.
Now that he comes with a built-in star attached, his screenwriting career is starting to move faster. He and his partner have already sold a thriller said to be similar to The Fugitive.

In the comics, when T’Challa is prompted to choose a queen, he marries fellow African – and X-Man – Storm, AKA Halle Berry!
Big Time
This new role could be the thing that launches Chadwick into the stratosphere.
Marvel is clearly confident in their choice of star; according to Deadline, they’ve signed him to a VERY lucrative five-picture deal!
We’ll reportedly get our first look at Chadwick as Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War.
