CBS Likely To Renegotiate Two And A Half Men For Less $$$ Without Charlie Sheen

When it comes down to it, the one thing that concerns studio execs, producers and actors alike is money. With Charlie Sheen out of the picture for good, Warner Bros. has to start thinking about the future of Two and A Half Men and what it will cost them to continue.
The good news is, sources report that it cost about $4 million to put one episode of the show on CBS. However, almost half of that went to Charlie Sheen, between his exorbitant salary and royalties for the reruns. So now, roughly $2 million is back in the studios pockets, meaning it could be financially possible to keep the show rolling with the right star at the right price.
However, they won’t just be saving money by tossing Charlie – they risk losing money as well. Contracts with other syndication networks will have to be reworked if the show forges ahead with a new lead star, as Charlie was a draw for many advertisers and audiences. So, CBS will have to face renegotiations with buyers of the reruns to make it fiscally fair for them.
It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t type of situation, but the point is a decision needs to be made and fast.
