Cody Simpson has really fallen head over heels for Miley Cyrus, hasn’t he?!
The 23-year-old Australian pop singer opened up to the Sydney Morning Herald this weekend in a new interview all about his love life with the former Hannah Montana star. But during the discussion, Simpson also noted Miley is but one in a line of strong, inspiring women in his life… and he gives a shout out to all of them as he recounts his journey to where he is today!

The pop sensation keeps it real with the outlet, first opening up about his maternal grandmother Gail, and his paternal grandmother Angie who, as he notes, helped support him through his first shot into entertainment world.
Simpson said:
“My maternal grandmother, Gail, has always been a huge influence on me. wise and adventurous” woman accompanied him to his 5:30 a.m. swimming practices growing up. [And Angie] was a beautiful example of what a reliable and responsible human being is. I owe a lot of my humility to these women. My ability to make good decisions comes from the way I was raised: I don’t want to disappoint Mum or my grandmothers.”
Wow. How sweet!
As for his current relationship with the former Disney star and world wide pop princess, Simpson didn’t hold back speaking in major terms about Miley there, either. The Masked Singer star raved about his girlfriend to the outlet, at one point saying (below):
“Being with Miley is a wonderful thing in my life. She is creative and inspiring, fiercely independent and encourages me to be my own person, too. We are both creative individuals who support one another with our work, and she also inspires my art. There’s some romance in the poems I have written and yeah, they might be about her. It’s inevitable that what happens in my private life comes out in my work.”
Awww!!! Such an adorable thing to say! And interesting to hear about his private life coming out so much more in his work… new Miley-inspired album upcoming, anyone?!
Simpson also spoke about the future he sees with Miley (spoiler alert: he doesn’t “believe” in marriage), though he also acknowledges he hasn’t thought too much about that. Still young and relatively free, even in his serious relationship with the Wrecking Ball singer, Cody added:
“I am far too young to consider it, to be honest. I just continue to surround myself with positive women who inspire me and teach me new things every day.”
OK then!
So no marriage, no real future thoughts besides just taking things every day… but he does give a wonderful nod of support and love to Miz Cyrus. We’ll take it! Ha!!
