It’s happened.

Madonna is going back to Michigan for the first time in many many years.

Her Madgesty is set to headline this year’s Traverse City Film Festival.

She will arrive on August 2nd to show her documentary about Malawai, I am Because We Are.

Michael Moore, the event founder, said Madonna “will present the film in person, watch it with the audience and conduct a question-and-answer session afterwards. It’s a huge coup for the Film Festival, and for Traverse City.”

Tickets to view Madonna’s docu will go on sale next month, a whole month earlier than tickets will go on sale for the rest of the films.

Obvs people should buy them quickly, since the downtown theatre only seats 540.

Moore adds, “She spent the past couple of years filming what the people go through, and the efforts to help them. I saw the film about a month ago. It’s a fantastic, powerful movie.”

The festival takes plac from July 29th through August 3rd.

As a special offering, they will be showing A League of Their Own at the Open Space on the same night as Madonna’s film shows.

Moore adds, “I’ve got a couple other surprises up my sleeve for the Film Festival,” he said.
