Ellen DeGeneres Thinks She Would Like To Have Kids! Whoa, Is The Daytime Host Changing Her Tune On Babies?!

We just know she’d be a great mom, but… does she want to be?!
Although her wife Portia de Rossi previously went on the record saying that the couple would remain childless, Ellen DeGeneres chatted with Today show’s Matt Lauer about maybe eventually having kids!

Her first response would make anyone seem hopeful that the couple might be adding to their family… but alas, the rest of her answer is less affirmative.
When Matt asked point blank if she would like to have kids, Ellen said:

“I think I would.
But that’s not enough to have kids. I love kids. But that’s such a big commitment. And it seems long-term. It seems like a commitment that you have to stick with. And I just don’t know if I can ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it’s too risky…. Like, what if I don’t like the kid? What if it turns out that it’s not as cute as I wanted or as talented? I’m gonna compare it to all these kids that I have on this show that are so smart and so funny. And I’m like, ‘You are nowhere near these kids I had on today.'”

Too funny, Ellen!
Yes, raising a child is a huge commitment, but we think you and Portia would be great at it.
We totally and completely respect Ellen’s decision to not have kids, but just knowing that she does kinda want kids fills us with excitement.
We mean, can you imagine Ellen as a mother? She’d win every Mom of the Year award ever.
