This is just beyond belief…
A 28-year-old father from California is being accused of brutally murdering his 1-year-old son just days before their family got together for the holidays. Per a press release from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a call of a “family disturbance” around 4:15 a.m. on Friday. When they arrived, they found a woman standing outside the home, later identified as Angelina Demskiy. She explained to them that her husband, Andrey Demskiy, had assaulted her and her mother. Luckily, both women were okay, and her mother was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. However, no one could’ve ever predicted the horror of what police were about to discover.
Responding law enforcement attempted to peacefully contact Andrey, but to no avail, according to the report. After they tried to contact the young father without success, they learned there was a 1-year-old child in the residence with him, his son Micah Demskiy. They were concerned he’d possibly injured the boy “after throwing him”. JFC. It was at this point cops say they forced their way into the home and tried to detain the father. He resisted arrest. And you’ll soon understand why.

Once police finally took him into custody after a battle in the bedroom, they discovered in that same room the severed head of the 1-year-old child… Unimaginably awful.
He beheaded his own baby. After the discovery, Sheriff’s Child Abuse Bureau detectives and Crime Scene Investigators joined the response:
“Based on their investigation, Detectives determined that Demskiy was initially involved in a domestic violence incident with his wife and mother-in-law when they both exited the residence and waited for Deputies. Once they exited the residence, Demskiy used a knife to behead and murder his one-year-old son.”
Gut-wrenching. So close to Christmas, too…
Demskiy was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and is ineligible for bond. He’s been officially charged with three felonies: assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, corporal injury to a spouse of cohabitant, and murder. His next scheduled court appearance will be on Christmas Eve.
Amar Gandhi, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, told local outlet KCRA the crime was “one of the most horrific things” he’d ever heard of and it left officers “visibly shaken”:
“For this family who has got to pick up the pieces and go on — I mean, their world is shattered.”
He also added that he “cannot think of a worse call in 20 years” and that the responding officers will have this case “in their hearts and minds for the rest of their careers and beyond”.
A GoFundMe was set up by a family friend to help cover end-of-life expenses for Micah, and the description detailed how “sweet” and “joyful” the tot was:
“The sweet little boy was a kind and joyful soul, loving all people and especially dogs. His kind heart and beautiful smile warmed the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. He loved his family and especially his mama. He loved being with family, going to the park, and singing hymns with his family. If you have it on your heart to help our family in this difficult time, please keep us in your prayers.”

We can’t imagine what this poor family is going through. We hope they can get the justice they deserve for little Micah. May he rest in peace.
