Gerard Butler Gives Surfing Lessons In Chasing Mavericks Trailer

We’ve been following this movie’s progress since we learned that Gerard Butler was prancing around shirtless on the set, so it’s nice to finally see what he’s been working on.
Chasing Mavericks follows surfer Jay Moriarity‘s quest to ride the mythical wave known as “Mavericks”. To accomplish the task, the young California native enlists in the help of Butler’s character to train him.
The first trailer (above) makes the movie look kind of like the Karate Kid, except instead of beating up bullies, the main character wants to beat the odds and surf a giant wave.
Butler may be getting older, but he just keeps getting finer and FINER! He can teach us how to surf any day 😉
