Government Vets Poison Stray Dogs In Egypt!

This is just absolutely terrible! (Though don’t cry, the dog in the above pic is only sleeping, we promise.)
In Mokattam, Eqypt government vets are literally poisoning stray dogs!!
After two children were violently attacked by strays, their families pressured vets to kill off the dogs.
What’s crazy is they’ve been using strychnine, a deadly pesticide.
That means that there’s just poison in the streets, so anyone and other animal life can get really sick and die as well.
In the two week mass killing campaign, over 150 strays have died!
What’s awful is the General Organization for Veterinary Services (GOVS) are even working with police to shoot stray dogs.
An animal rights activist said:

“If poisoning and shooting strays was a successful approach to the problem, then the issue would be sorted by now.”

The GOVS claims they don’t have the funding but the activists fired back:

“Funding is not the issue. Money just needs to be shifted from expensive strychnine poisons to paying professional veterinarians.”

Yeah, that sounds like exactly what needs to happen!
Just neuter and spay them!!
Don’t murder strays!
