Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin are having the tough conversations on air!
During a new episode of iHeartRadio‘s Whine Down with Jana Kramer podcast on Monday, the parents of one sat down to discuss the status of their marriage following Caussin’s infidelity.
The 31-year-old former athlete admitted that he had an “a-ha moment” after the country singer demanded change from him:
“She said, ├óΓé¼╦£Look, I’m giving you every opportunity. I am here. I am willing to work on this. I want this family to work.’ Basically, step up or get out. And it got to a point of an ultimatum and that’s where I hit my breaking point. She hit her breaking point. I hit mine.”

Caussin, who went to rehab for sex addition before reconciling with Jana, went on:
“The thing is until someone wants to change themselves, there’s no amount of therapy, no amount of talking you can do about it until you make that decision for yourself. I don’t want to lose her. I don’t want to lose Jana. I don’t want to lose our family. I don’t want to lose what we are trying to build.”
It didn’t help the progress Mike and Jana had made when Khlo├â┬⌐ Kardashian and Tristan Thompson‘s cheating scandal broke, because Jana was often reminded of how Mike strayed:
“I got triggered with the Khlo├â┬⌐ [Kardashian] and Tristan stuff. ├óΓé¼┬ª Sometimes I lash out: ├óΓé¼╦£I can’t believe you did that.’ My job now is to stay present. What is he doing to actively fight and be good? He isn’t doing those things anymore. It’s tough. It’s hard for him to see why I’m hurt.”
While you can’t make someone pay for their past mistakes over and over, understanding on both sides is definitely important!
