Watch John Krasinski Surprise One COVID-19 Response Team With A Baseball Moment They'll Never Forget!

John Krasinski is trying to bring what joy he can during these uncertain times with his recently-launched YouTube channel, Some Good News.

Giving a special shout-out to his “hometown healthcare heroes,” Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, The Office star (virtually) sat down with the COVID-19 response unit for Sunday’s video to praise them for their all amazing work!

And of course, give them a special surprise any Red Sox fan would flip over! Teasing earlier in the nearly 20-minute long clip, John explained how coronavirus put an end to this year’s MLB season, which never even got to start:

“Baseball is America’s sport for a reason: It brings us all together. And for me, and I’m sure a lot of you, the calendar just doesn’t really feel the same until that opening day pitch is thrown out. Well, last week was supposed to be opening day for almost every major league team and that loss was felt by everyone. And even in the midst of 24-hour shifts and sleepless nights, our healthcare heroes were missing baseball too.”

So, what better way to bring the sport to those on the frontlines at the Massachusetts-based hospital?? A guest appearance from Boston Red Sox’s David Ortiz AKA Big Papi! The baseball star added his own heartfelt appreciation for the COVID-19 response team, sharing:

“I gotta tell you guys from the very bottom of my heart how much I love you and respect you for what you guys are doing. Taking your lives, taking your time, that’s something…it goes beyond everything.”

Ortiz also announced they, along with the entire staff at BIDMC, would be gifted lifetime tickets to see the Red Sox!! Krasinski also had the team escorted to Fenway Park, in “the most sanitized Duck Boat in America,” where they were able to throw out the first pitch of the season!!

We know there’s no crying in baseball, but it’s hard not to tear up seeing how happy this made them! You can catch all that and more in the video (above), or watch it straight through in Monday’s clip (below):
