Donald Trump might claim he’s not egging Kanye West on to derail Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, but it appears someone close to POOTUS is doing just that: Jared Kushner!
According to reports, the husband of Ivanka Trump and White House senior advisor has been speaking with the All Day rapper regularly since his July 4 tweet declaring he was running for president.
Now, we already knew from a New York Times report earlier Wednesday that Kush and Ivanka met with Yeezy last weekend in Colorado. But it appears their bond is stronger than the Times reporters realized: a source close to the situation revealed to Forbes afterward that the Grammy-winner has been telling associates he and Kushner speak “almost daily.”

Whoa! Is this how Kanye ended up with Republican operatives working on his campaign?? What do Kushner and Kanye talk about, you ask? According to a source, Ye told his confidants:
“Jared’s scared and doesn’t want me to run because he knows that I can win.”
Why would Jared be scared? Kanye can’t even come close to winning. A Politico poll Wednesday put his numbers at just 2% among Black voters. Even he admits he’s not so much running for president as “walking” for president. He hasn’t gotten enough signatures to get on the ballot in many states, and in the ones he has, well… that is looking even worse for the Yeezy founder. Like, possibly highly illegal worse.
No, Team Trump aren’t scared of Kanye running; they want him to run. And according to multiple sources, what Jared is doing is using “reverse psychology” to trick Kanye into keeping his campaign going!
But it gets worse: those close to Kanye say it will actually work. One confidant shared:
“If you know him for more than 20 minutes, you know that will work.”
Another told the outlet:
“He’s just like a kid. The more you tell him he can’t do a thing, the more he’ll do it… he has a tremendous drive to prove people wrong.”
Ugh!
Forget dirty politics, this is the work of straight-up sociopaths, like something out of Making A Murderer! Then again, *sociopath* is kind of the Trump administration’s brand, so we guess we’ll just keep internally screaming as this political madness unfolds. As you might expect, the president insists he has nothing to do with Kanye’s presidential aspirations. He told reporters at the White House:
“I like Kanye very much. I have nothing to do with him being on the ballot. I’m not involved.”
Meanwhile, Kanye is trying his best to navigate the media as a newly-minted political hopeful. After NYT reporters asked him for comment before they first outed his meeting with Jared, he tweeted:
“I’m willing to do a live interview with the New York Time about my meeting with Jared where we discussed Dr Claude Anderson’s book Powernomics”
Kim Kardashian West‘s husband hasn’t actually followed through with the interview though. Oh, and speaking of Kim, TMZ reports she did NOT know anything about her hubby’s meetings with Jared. Something tells us that’s on purpose; the future lawyer might see through the subterfuge. Do YOU think the Trump campaign is above exploiting a mentally ill celebrity if it meant shaving the tiniest bit of votes away from Biden??
