Kelly Clarkson Forced To Sell Jane Austen Ring To London Museum!

Kelly Clarkson finally gives up her historical ring to Jane Austen's House Museum!

Sounds like Kelly Clarkson’s reign as Lord Of The Jane Austen Ring has come to a close!

In case you didn’t know, last year Kelly bid on and won a gold and turquoise ring that once belonged to the Pride & Prejudice author.

Unfortunately when she tried to bring it home, the bauble was flagged as a “national treasure” and couldn├óΓé¼Γäót leave the UK!

Since then, the ring has been sitting in London waiting for a solution to present itself — and it finally has!

On Monday, Jane Austen’s House Museum announced that it had raised over $250,000 to match Kelly’s ring bid, buy the item from her, and keep it in the museum.

As a huge Jane Austen fan, the American Idol winner was probs slightly disappointed that she never really got to keep the ring herself, but she released a gracious statement saying:

“The ring is a beautiful national treasure and I am happy to know that so many Jane Austen fans will get to see it at Jane Austen’s House Museum.”

The singer didn’t have much of a choice since she could never bring the ring home to the U.S. anyway, but we’re happy to hear the situation was peacefully resolved.

Besides, Kelly still has the replica fiance Brandon Blackstock made for her!
