Well, this is some not-so-nice news!
Someone is trying to sabotage Lana Del Rey‘s chance at an Oscar for Best Original Song!!
The songstress is indeed in the running for the chilling song Young and Beautiful from The Great Gatsby soundtrack, but reports have surfaced that members of the Academy’s selection committee have received fake Variety articles claiming that the track is ineligible thanks to the movie’s release date.
Say what??!
Now execs at Warner Bros have to work overtime to lobby for Lana’s nom with a featurette highlighting the jam.
It is always so disappointing to hear people trying to tear others down, but at least it’s nice to know that Hollywood heavyweights have her back!
It’d be SUCH a shame if this hurt the possibility of her getting on the short list for a statue seeing as we STILL get the chills every time we hear that haunting track!
Not to mention, we’d LOVE to see her perform live on the Oscar stage!
Let’s hope the studio caught the attempts in time for Lana to get her well-deserved shot!!!
