We aren’t the only ones happy for George and Amal Clooney!
On Thursday, Matt Damon revealed that he practically burst into tears when he first heard the powerhouse couple’s baby news…LAST FALL. Yup, the Jason Bourne actor was one of the first pals the Oscar winner told about his wife’s pregnancy. Awwww!

During a chat with ET Canada, the A-lister dished:
“I was working with him last fall and he pulled me aside on set and I mean, I almost started crying. I was so happy for him. And I was like, ‘How far along is she?’ And he goes, ‘Eight weeks.’ [And I said], ├óΓé¼╦£Are you out of your mind? Don’t tell anybody else! Don’t tell anybody else! Don’t you know the 12-week rule?’ Like, of course he doesn’t.”
HIGHlarious! Of course, the industry vet advised Clooney to “just shut up” and made sure to check in on how Mrs. Clooney was doing a few weeks later. He continued:
“Then four weeks later, I’m like, ├óΓé¼╦£We’re good, right?'”
Thankfully, George told him:
“We’re good.”
In case you forgot, it was Julie Chen who confirmed the truth bomb when she announced on The Talk that the Clooneys were expecting TWINS this June after being married for just about two and a half years.
We aren’t shocked the Up In The Air star told Matt about his happy baby news as the bestiez starred in the Ocean’s Eleven franchise together. And it sounds like Damon is really pumped for his longtime friend as he concluded:
“I’m thrilled for him. She’s amazing. He hit the jackpot. Just on every level. She is a remarkable woman. They’re gonna be great. They’re gonna be awesome parents. Those kids are lucky.”
We’re not crying, you are! Once again, we offer the soon-to-be parents only the best during this exciting time!
