This is so tough to stomach.
A new Chinese science-fiction movie called Crazy Alien, and starring former Glee actor Matthew Morrison, is coming under fire for serious allegations of animal abuse after a whistleblower video surfaced of a very disturbing scene involving a German Shepherd.

According to PETA, a whistleblower sent the clip filmed in November 2017 to the organization, which shows a horrific act of animal cruelty on the set of the Chinese film, directed by hugely successful commercial filmmaker Ning Hao.
You can see the video (and Morrison’s reaction) below — but please be warned, it is difficult to watch knowing there is a German Shepherd locked inside the crate:

Ugh.
Our hearts break.

Along with the video, the whistleblower sent along a description of the incident as well, reading in part (below):

“The second the dog cage rose into the air, the dog stopped barking instantly as the cables were used to spin the cage out of control in circles before solidly landing 40├óΓé¼ΓÇ£50 feet away. The director took many takes and this was just awful to witness as the torment went on. The next shot was at the river’s edge where the dog was put back into his cage and tormented into a frenzy once again. This time ├óΓé¼┬ª the cage ├óΓé¼┬ª was hoisted 20 ft. and was flung while spinning out of control towards the river. ├óΓé¼┬ª [T]he cage was completely submerged with the dog in it landing in a 10 mph current. After 5├óΓé¼ΓÇ£8 seconds, the director yelled out ├óΓé¼╦£cut.'”

Wow.
That’s absolutely despicable.
Morrison reacted publicly overnight, saying he wasn’t on set at the time and that had he been… things might have turned out differently (below):

So, so sad for that poor dog.
Ugh…
