It was only a matter of time until Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton became besties!
As we reported, a People source revealed the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William’s wives was “strengthening” after months of reports claiming the two weren’t getting along.
Whether the sisters-in-law really clashed or were just victims of the media pitting them against each other doesn’t really matter now, as Meg and Kate are apparently in a place where they’re more comfortable with their royal paths — and each other.

An insider said in this week’s People cover story:
“You’re seeing more confidence from Meghan recently but also from Kate.”
Very true!
Last weekend, the pair were exuding confidence and class when they hit up Wimbledon together with Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton. An eyewitness said the Duchesses “were genuine and sweet together,” with Kate even offering Meg a sympathetic pat on the back when her bestie Serena Williams lost a match.
That might not sound like much, but these are royals we’re talking about: a pat on the back is their equivalent of hugging and dancing in hamburger and fresh fries costumes.
The insiders went on to say Meg and Kate are more “relaxed” with each other because they’ve both become more relaxed with the chaos that comes with marrying a royal. That pressure was particularly extreme for the former Suits star, who left her friends, family, and Hollywood career to start a new life with her hubby.
Another insider explained:
“She pretty much arrived in the U.K. and went straight into learning how to be a royal. Moving to a new country is not an easy thing. Then you multiply that it’s the royal family and comes with thousands of years of pomp and circumstance.”
On top of all that, Meghan had to plan her royal wedding — with the entire world watching her every move.
The source continued:
“Here she was planning her wedding, which anyone who has done it knows how stressful that is, while also immersing herself in a new country, a new family, a new life, all while living in a fishbowl.”
All that personal family drama certainly didn’t help, either!
Thankfully, the Duchess of Cambridge is finally getting used to her new life — not to mention, motherhood — while Kate is finding the right balance of raising her kids and championing causes that are close to her heart.
Now that they’re better adjusted and “have more in common,” insiders say a Markleton alliance is inevitable — and they could become much tighter than were ever prepared for. Longtime royals author Robert Lacey told the outlet:
“Coming from different backgrounds, I think, they have more the makings of a team than people imagined. And they have a common interest as partners to these two men who are so crucial to the monarchy, along with their children.”
TBH, we’re giddy just thinking about what these two could accomplish together. Equal pay? A solution for Brexit? World domination?
Probably all of the above.
But, for now, it’s just good to hear these two have each other’s backs.
