In case anyone was wondering if Today viewers would miss Megyn Kelly, the answer is a resounding WHO??
The ratings tell the story, and it seems the Fox News vet with the multimillion million deal was nothing more than a golden anchor weighing down NBC‘s mornings.
Not only did viewership dip when she came on in the first place, her exit — ignominious though it may have been — was actually a ratings boon.

Nielsen reports viewership in the hour jumped 5% in the week immediately after Kelly’s departure and was still up 4% the following week.
Not only that, in the 25-54 demo, the one advertisers care about the most, was up a whopping 10% last week!
That’s a LOT when you consider their neck-and-neck battle with GMA rages on. (And by rages we mean smiles and says good morning.)
It’s the best ratings the show has had since covering the Olympics in February. It appears Megyn was holding them back the entire time she was there!
The lesson here? Don’t prolong breaking up when you’re in a toxic relationship. Tear off the Band-Aid!
