This is just so upsetting.
It appears that Mel B‘s mother Andrea Brown has gotten involved in the Spice Girls alum’s custody battle with ex Stephen Belafonte. As you surely know, the former flames have been at war, as the Los Angeles native has made attempts to get visitation rights with his former stepdaughter, Angel.

While the 42-year-old has claimed that he’s been more of a father to the 10-year-old than Eddie Murphy has, the Wannabe songstress has accused the film producer of exposing her child to emotionally distressing and inappropriate content. Specifically, Belafonte allegedly showed Angel and her siblings “videos of ISIS beheading individuals.”
And it seems young Angel was also privy to the alleged abuse Stephen inflicted on the America’s Got Talent judge. On Monday, an unverified Twitter account seemingly belonging to Mel B’s mom posted a letter written by Angel, which detailed the abuse she’s witnessed over the years.

The three page letter claims Belafonte put Mel B and her kids through a “nightmare,” leaving the young girl passionate in her decision for never wanting to see him again. Mel and Eddie’s daughter allegedly wrote:
“I’m very frightened of Stephen. When he is mad it’s terrifying. I never want to see him ever again, it’d be like reliving a horrible part of my life. The worst part about the times I lived with him is when I’d try to stop the fights and cursing. When I tried he would say, ‘Oh shut up’ and I would be so scared I wouldn’t say anything else. I witnessed a physical fight. I was lying down in my mother’s room ‘sleeping’. I woke up to a fight, I can’t remember what it was about, but I heard Stephen hitting mommy’s hand, it was hard cause I heard it. Mommy said, ‘You snapped my nail off,’ so it was hard.
I attempted to fake sleep cause I didn’t want to interfere and get hurt. I don’t want to see the man that causes so much damage to my mother leading her living [sic] through a nightmare.”
Angel also addressed Stephen’s claims that her biological father has no interest in knowing her. Per the missive, Belafonte’s daughter Giselle told Angel that Murphy was her father back when she was only five years old. She added:
“Extremely proud of that. I got an amazing relationship with my sisters, brothers, grandma and my father Eddie Murphy!”
Mel B’s middle child also said that, while living with Stephen, their house rules “were the strictest.” Apparently, when they ate food they had “to sit on the floor instead of the dinner table.” Also, the 10-year-old was barred from having a dog. Man, oh man.
This update directly contradicts the image Belafonte has been painting. Most recently, Stephen got a tattoo of the letter A in honor of Angel (below).
