Wow, what amazing recognition!
On Tuesday, President Obama announced his plans to honor Meryl Streep, Stevie Wonder and news anchor Tom Brokaw with the Presidential Medal of Freedom!
The award, which is the highest honor bestowed to U.S. civilians, recognizes contributions to U.S. security, world peace and cultural achievement.
Well, we definitely think Meryl, Stevie, and Tom have gifted our country with some fantastic contributions!

Obama elaborated:
“From scientists who kept America on the cutting edge to public servants who help write new chapters in our American story, these citizens have made extraordinary contributions to our country and the world.”
It’s so wonderful for POTUS to recognize some of America’s most influential and deserving citizens!
Past winners of the medal have included Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, and Sally Ride.
Congrats to everyone who will receive a medal this year!
