Miami Heat Player Sues Basketball Wives Star

Chris Bosh

Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh is suing Basketball Wives reality star Allison Mathis and the production company behind the series for what very well may be the show’s fatal flaw: The cast isn’t married to any basketball players!

The lawsuit, filed on Monday in California court, points out that the women featured on the show aren’t actually wives of any NBA players, but instead dating, have dated, or are divorced from players.

Specifically, Chris is worried the use of his name may have “destroyed” his reputation and confuse the public into thinking he authorized or sponsored Basketball Wives.

The lawsuit states:

“The use of Plaintiff’s name by Defendants is primarily commercial and not communicative. Further, the show, Basketball Wives, is not transformative, but rather the use, depiction, or imitation of celebrity NBA basketball players, including Plaintiff, is the very sum and substance of the show.”

Inneresting. We’d like to see how the judge rules in this case.

Could this be the end of Basketball Wives or will they actually start casting basketball player’s wives instead of jaded ex’s?
