Remember Geoffrey Owens, the Cosby Show actor who got mocked by trolls after photos of him working at Trader Joe’s hit the Internet?
Well, Nicki Minaj made good on her promise to donate $25,000 to him this week!
But if we’ve learned anything about Geoffrey, it’s that he doesn’t need handouts — he’s a worker.

So what did he do with the money? He donated it all to charity group The Actors Fund! He told TMZ:
“I would like to give this donation of 25k to the Actor’s Fund in memory of the late, great Earle Hyman — who played Cosby’s father, ‘Russell’, on The Cosby Show — who lived his last many years and died at the Actors’ Home, (funded and run by the Actor’s Fund). I am extremely grateful to Nicki Minaj for enabling struggling actors to continue pursuing their dreams.”
How did Nicki react to the news? With nothing but love and respect! She said:
“I’m happy to be a part of a great cause. I wish Geoffrey much success and want him to know how loved he is. Rest in Peace to Earle Hyman.”
As for Geoffrey, we think he’ll be just fine.
The grace and charm with which he handled this situation got him back on a LOT of casting radars, starting with Tyler Perry, who already cast him in a series.
