Wow. And not in a good way.
Last year we were happy to celebrate the news Owen Wilson had welcomed a healthy little girl named Lyla — then we heard he hadn’t even met his newborn daughter!

Well, according to the child’s mother, Varunie Vongsvirates, that has not changed in over a year. Ugh.
Yes, the Wedding Crashers star’s ex has quite a bit to say, as she unloaded to DailyMail.com over the weekend:
“Owen has never met Lyla. Never.”
Owen and Varunie casually dated for about five years — right up to the start of the pregnancy.
A source told Us Weekly back in 2018 the actor “knew all along that Varunie was pregnant. Owen was told when Varunie was four weeks pregnant” after they returned home from a vacation to Hawaii.
However, he apparently didn’t trust he was the father at first, submitting to a paternity test in June of 2018, four months before Lyla was born. A source told Us at that time:
“Owen has been a great father to his boys and has maintained a warm and close relationship with their mothers. Of course, if a paternity test establishes that he is the father of another child, he will fulfill all of his obligations to support his child.”
“If.” Oof. Clearly that test confirmed he was indeed the poppa as he has been paying child support.
Varunie confirmed:
“He helps financially but it’s never been about that. Lyla needs a father.”
She then shaded her famous ex, saying:
“It’s ironic how [Owen] keeps getting these father roles, he’s playing a father in his new movie, and he’s never met his own daughter.”
In 2017 Wilson played a father in the family film Wonder.
When asked to if she had a message for her baby daddy, she spoke directly to Owen, saying:
“You should see your daughter, she’s incredible, you’re really missing out. She looks just like you.”
Ouch. There is a resemblance we think.
Owen has two other children, 7-year-old Ford, whom he had with ex Jade Duell, and 4-year-old Finn with trainer Caroline Lindqvist.
He regularly sees both of them. He even tells cute stories about them on Ellen.
Maybe he figured he’d rather be done at two, maybe it was because of his relationship with her mother — but for some reason he has apparently made the decision not to be a part of Lyla’s life. Per that Us Weekly source:
“He even checked the no visitation box in court in June… He does not want to visit [and does not] want any custody of her.”
So sad!
