In a new interview clip shown Monday on Fox News‘ Fox And Friends, Perry tells journalist Ed Henry how Donald Trump is “the chosen one” sent by God to rule over the United States. We’re sorry, world: yes, unfortunately, these are the people running our government right now.

In his full comment, truncated by the morning show as a teaser for the former gov’s upcoming full sit-down which will air later on today, Perry says:
“God’s used imperfect people all through history. King David wasn’t perfect, Saul wasn’t perfect, Solomon wasn’t perfect. I said, Mr. President, I know there are people that say you said you were the chosen one and I said, ‘You were.’ I said, ‘If you’re a believing Christian, you understand God’s plan for the people who rule and judge over us on this planet and our government.'”
Seriously, can we vomit now?!

It’s not just nauseating to hear those absurd words come out of Perry’s mouth — it’s also surprising, to say the least, to watch him completely grovel at Trump’s feet after having BLASTED the President in the recent past.
TIME reported that during a speech back in July 2015, Perry called Trump a “cancer” and a “barking carnival act,” and ripped into the then-candidate with a truly vicious attack:
“The White House has been occupied by giants. But from time to time it is sought by the small-minded – divisive figures propelled by anger, and appealing to the worst instincts in the human condition. [Trump] offers a barking carnival act that can be best described as Trumpism: a toxic mix of demagoguery, mean-spiritedness and nonsense that will lead the Republican Party to perdition if pursued. Let no one be mistaken – Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded.”

And now, four years and one forgettable Dancing with the Stars appearance later, Perry has gone from that to full-fledged Trump worship.

If you’re wondering about the specific phrase “the chosen one” being used to describe the buffoon-in-chief, well, it fits from Perry because The Donald himself actually used it in one of his trademark rants a couple of months ago.
Back in August, the Prez was on the White House lawn taking questions from reporters about his trade war with China when he inexplicably looked up to the sky (?!) and called himself “the chosen one,” as you can see at about the 1:35 mark of this video:
Yeah, that’s not weird at all…
Seriously, Perezcious readers, what do U make of this garbage?? It’s bad enough that we have spineless Republicans caving to Trump’s worst impulses, but now to say the short-fingered man has been anointed by God?! Absolutely absurd!!!
