Sony Hackers Threaten A 9/11-Like Attack On Any Theater Screening The Interview (UPDATED)

This is just horrible!
The Sony hack has released all kinds of information, from unkind emails to the personal information of people who work there.
Well, this is a whole new level of seriousness.

The hackers released a message, promising a 9/11-like attack for any movie theater that screens The Interview, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco.
The comedy pokes fun at North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, which is leading people to believe that the country is behind the hacks, although they’ve denied it, while still praising the hackers.
The message reads:

Warning
We will clearly show it to you at the very time and places “The Interview” be shown, including the premiere, how bitter fate those who seek fun in terror should be doomed to.
Soon all the world will see what an awful movie Sony Pictures Entertainment has made.
The world will be full of fear.
Remember the 11th of September 2001.
We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time.
(If your house is nearby, you’d better leave.)
Whatever comes in the coming days is called by the greed of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
All the world will denounce the SONY.

SCARY STUFF!
Last week’s premiere in Los Angeles was fine, but they may be alluding to the downsized New York City premiere on Thursday, hence the 9/11 references. At the time, Seth thanked SONY exec Amy Pascal “for having the balls to make this movie,” but now we have to ask, at what cost???
Hopefully the FBI, and everyone working on this case now takes it very seriously and stops this craziness before someone gets hurt.
UPDATE: U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security is now saying the threat is NOT credible, based on their current intelligence. An official stated:

“We are still analyzing the credibility of these statements, but at this time there is no credible intelligence to indicate an active plot against movie theaters within the United States… If you see something, say something.”
