Man Saves Woman's Life With CPR He Learned From 'The Office'

The Office CPR Saves Life

The next time someone tells you TV rots your brain, tell them the story of Cross Scott.
No, he wasn’t the hot transfer student on Riverdale, he’s a real-life hero who used techniques he saw on TV to save a life!
The Tucson tire shop technician was in the middle of a test drive when he saw a woman slumped over in her car. She wasn’t breathing, and her lips had turned blue.

Scott jumped into action, breaking open her backseat window and checking her pulse. He then leaned back her seat and performed CPR on her, most likely saving her life.
The only thing is, Scott had no CPR training. Like, at all. He told the Arizona Daily Star:

“I’ve never prepared myself for CPR in my life. I had no idea what I was doing.”

How did the 21-year-old know what to do?
He remembered a decade-old scene from The Office when an instructor shows Michael Scott (another Scott? weird!) how to do it.
Picturing Steve Carell‘s failed attempts at getting the rhythm right, Scott remembered to do chest compressions to the beat of The Bee Gees‘ Stayin’ Alive, even singing the song aloud.
And it worked!
After about a minute, the woman woke up and vomited. Scott turned her on her side.
About 10 minutes after he first spotted the car, the paramedics finally arrived to take over — and told him if he hadn’t acted fast, she might not have made it. AMAZING!
Scott now says he’d like to get actual CPR training so he could be better prepared for any future emergencies. We’re just happy he acted fast — and watched a lot of Netflix.
Here’s the classic 2009 sitcom scene — though we highly recommend taking a real course, and NOT one with Michael Scott in charge!
