Too Much Of A Good Thing?

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has announced plans for the band’s next album, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, and it’s…different to say the least.

Featuring 44 songs, each track will be released one at a time beginning around Halloween and will be available at ZERO cost.

Corgan states:

“Each song will be made available absolutely free, to anyone anywhere. There will be no strings attached. Free will mean free, which means you won’t have to signup for anything, give an email address, or jump through a hoop. You will be able to go and take the song or songs as you wish, as many times as you wish.

11 limited edition EPs will be sold featuring 4 songs apiece and a deluxe box set will also be sold after all the songs are released.

Corgan continues:

“I am very committed to seeing this album through to its completion and very, very excited about the prospect of delivering new Smashing Pumpkins music to you in a unique and exciting way.”

The free aspect is nice, but 44 songs? Could be overkill.

What do U think?

Will U be downloading the new album?
