Why Travis Kelce Is NOT Supporting Taylor Swift At The Grammys

UPDATE 2:50 P.M. PST: Looks like Travis confirmed what we all already knew! The tight end is going to be spending all his free time hitting the field and gym alongside his fellow Chiefs teammates in preparation for the Super Bowl. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be cheering on his girl from afar!

On Wednesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, he said:

“I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys, and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for. But I think I’ve got practice on Sunday … Unfortunately, I’ve gotta get ready for this big old Super Bowl that we’ve got in a week.”

Darn! We would definitely love to see Trav at the Grammys alongside Taylor, but they both have such demanding careers they have to put first!

Wait, you’re telling us Taylor Swift is traveling back in time to see Travis Kelce play in the Super Bowl… and he can’t fly to El Lay this weekend to walk the red carpet with her at the Grammys??

That’s exactly it. Fans were hoping for the couple’s official red carpet debut before the ceremony at LA’s Crypto.com Arena this Sunday, February 4, but it turns out they may have lost out because Trav won. See, winning the AFC Championship scored the Kansas City Chiefs a spot in the Big Game. And that’s on February 11. So Trav will not be able to go out and party — he has to buckle down and train hard!

Sure, it’s a full week later, but it’s the SUPER BOWL!!! This isn’t a game they take lightly, and sources tell E! News he’ll be hard at work preparing.

Besides, the Grammys are NOT the Super Bowl for a pop star like Tay. First, she’s already gotten tons of Grammy Awards, this is far from her first rodeo. Second, she won’t even be performing — she just has to show up, have fun, and accept any golden grammaphones they give her!

Meanwhile there will be performances from SZA, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Billy Joel so we’re sure Trav is sad to miss it. But it can’t compare to his upcoming weekend. Did we mention he’s playing in the Super Bowl??
