Unacceptable! UFC Throws As Many Punches As They Do Gay Slurs!

UFC fight
Ugh! We are not happy to hear about this.
While sports organizations like the NBA and MLB are working to end homophobia, others like the NHL seem to be tolerating it. Unfortunately, the UFC (Utlimate Fighting Championship) seems to be flat out endorsing anti-gay bigotry!
In recent incidents, not only have the athletes used gay slurs to taunt their opponents, but even the PRESIDENT of the organization, Dana White, is leading by poor example!
During an expletive-filled rant on YouTube, Mr. White not only called a female sports journalist a “dumb b*tch”, but dropped this homophobic line:

“Whoever gave you that quote is an [expletive] and a [expletive] faggot and a [expletive] liar and everything else.”

Everything else? It sounds like he included all the hate he could muster in one video! He dropped the “F” bomb a total of 34 times on top of demeaning a female journalist and the LGBT community. Very professional, sir!
That’s just the boss! Let’s talk about the players.
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who starred in The A-Team alongside Bradley Cooper, not only reportedly shouted “every conceivable gay slur” at a crew member while filming, but was quoted in a Los Angeles Times article saying, “Acting is kind of gay. It makes you soft.”
On top of offending the LGBT crowd, he also offended half of Hollywood with that one. We’re sure his co-stars were very pleased with his deep thoughts on acting and are eager to work with him again. Let’s get back into the ring though.
In a video posted on the internet, Rampage urged Japanese fans (who did not appear to understand English) to repeat an anti-gay slur, while instructing another Japanese man in another video to say, “Goodbye, I want you to piss on my face.”
The discrimination continued this past August when UFC heavyweight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira shared with the USA Today that he would not train with gay students, explaining:

“What if the gay person has that malice of having physical contact with me, of staying there grappling? I would have no problems having a gay student in my academy, but I would rather not train with him.”

Is he afraid he’ll get infected?! Geez! No wonder these guys are fighters because we doubt they could do much else with their pea sized brains!
Considering the organization’s own president isn’t above using anti-gay slurs on a regular basis, we’re not surprised that those below him aren’t being disciplined for their homophobic actions. However, this is not acceptable.
A majority of fans watching the sport are KIDS! Kids who idolize these fighters for their physical capabilities, but are too young to question the fighter’s intellectual capabilities. There are PLENTY of more examples as to why the UFC is not kid friendly, just click here to see for yourself.
Thankfully, people are taking action to STOP the hate. Not only has the Las Vegas Culinary Workers Union created an online petition in which people offended by this conduct can ask FOX to drop the UFC, but they’re going after the sponsors too!
Anheuser-Busch, the beer company who makes Bud Light, has sponsored recent gay pride celebrations in Los Angeles, Houston, New York, and San Francisco, yet they also are a major corporate sponsor for UFC, which disparages the entire LGBT community on a regular basis!
The workers union has already contacted the beer company about the hypocritical sponsorship decisions, but we’d encourage anyone offended by the UFC’s bigotry to contact the company too!
If the UFC wants to be a nationally recognized sport’s league on par with the NBA or MLB, we suggest they get their act together and start acting PROFESSIONALLY!
