This story just breaks our hearts…
Brandon McGraw, a 33-year-old US Marine, died over the weekend while on a trip to Australia that his wife won as a contestant on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show earlier this year.
The Iraq and Afghan war veteran was killed while skydiving in what is being called a freak parachute accident. While coming down, McGraw suddenly swerved left and right uncontrollably and slammed into the ground.
His wife Cherilyn had successfully completed a tandem jump just moments before and had already landed safely. Brandon was pronounced dead at the scene.
The McGraws had won this trip after Cherilyn competed in Ellen’s “Stuff Your Down Under Pants” contest in January. Brandon was an experienced skydiver with several prior jumps under his belt.
Cherilyn paid tribute to her husband on Facebook this week, posting pictures of them in the plane moments before this tragedy. She also wrote in the captions:

“These are truly such symbolic photos. He was happy and doing what he loved. It├óΓé¼Γäós amazing all that photos can capture in a moments time ├óΓé¼┬ª I love you more than anything in the world, honey. You are the most amazing man.├óΓé¼┬¥

Cherilyn also called Brandon her “hero” and her “angel”.
Our hearts go out to you today, Cherilyn.
