Twitter Does The Right Thing & Vows To Crack Down On Internet Trolls In Support Of Zelda Williams!

Checkmate, internet trolls!
After Robin Williams tragically passed away, his daughter, Zelda Williams received some seriously disturbed messages on Twitter.
Some users sent poor Zelda a photoshopped image of her father’s corpse, which was obviously very upsetting.
Quickly thereafter, Zelda announced her plans to leave social media all together…and Twitter definitely noticed!
Yesterday Twitter released the statement:

“We will not tolerate abuse of this nature on Twitter. We have suspended a number of accounts related to this issue for violating our rules and we are in the process of evaluating how we can further improve our policies to better handle tragic situations like this one. This includes expanding our policies regarding self-harm and private information, and improving support for family members of deceased users.”

We are absolutely THRILLED with how Twitter handled this situation! There’s NO excuse for such despicable behavior.
