Academy Now Considering Having NO Oscars Host Following Kevin Hart’s Exit!

kevin hart academy no host

Time to panic! The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences is scrambling to find a suitable star to host the Oscars following Kevin Hart’s dramatic departure last week — and it sounds like they’re getting desperate.
Sources told Variety that the Academy was “blindsided” by Hart’s abrupt exit last Thursday and the Board of Governors is now “freaking out” over the fact that they’re back to square one. The matter will be discussed at a Board meeting on Tuesday night, where some unconventional ideas will apparently be tossed around.
VOTE: Who Should Host The 2019 Oscars?
While enlisting in the services of a late night host like Jimmy Kimmel or James Corden seems like the obvious choice, the Academy is now said to be hesitant to hire a host that might be too edgy. At the same time, a tame host likely wouldn’t bode well for the show’s ratings, which already hit a record low last year.
Another option being mulled over is having NO host for the ceremony, but instead “a bunch of huge celebs, something SNL style, and buzzy people” to keep the night moving, according to the insiders. One source noted that the idea of a group monologue had already been floated around.
That’s a lotttt of Twitter auditing they’d have to do…
Do U think the show would run smoother without a host? Sound off in the comments!
