Britney Spears' Next Album Is 'On Hold Right Now' Due To Her Father's Health Issues

Britney Spears has put her whole career on hold, and for good reason, too.
As we’ve been reporting, her father’s recent life-threatening health crisis and current recovery has put Brit’s Las Vegas residency on hiatus for an indefinite period.
And now, it’s extended to new music as well, as she temporarily walks away from it all to care for her dad, Jamie.

Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph, told Variety on Thursday that the singer’s new album — which was speculated to come out at some point in 2019 — is now on hold, too:

“Everything is on hold right now until Jamie is better. But once he is, she will resume working on the album with Justin. Right now, she’s taking some time off to deal with these family issues.”

Good! Family first, no question Britney is doing the right thing — for her, the music will always be there whenever she’s been able to return.
BTW, the “Justin” referenced there in Rudolph’s quote is Justin Tranter, a hitmaker who has previously worked with Imagine Dragons and Selena Gomez in addition to co-writing four songs on Spears’ 2016 effort Glory.
Whenever Spears does return to the studio after Jamie improves, Variety has learned that Tranter will serve as executive producer on the forthcoming album, which will be Britney’s tenth studio effort.
Impressive!
Hopefully Papa Spears recovers soon. We’re thinking of him!
