Stay woke, Lambs.
While Mimi herself thinks Dick Clark Productions is to blame — having accused the veteran production team of "sabotaging" her performance — her ex Nick Cannon also believes some entity had purposely "foiled" the music icon.
But unlike the diva, the America's Got Talent host thinks the Times Square technical issue goes all the way to the top — as in, the federal government!
On Monday's Ellen, Cannon, a self-proclaimed conspiracy theorist, said he thought the government "set [Mariah] up" for a disastrous performance, quipping:

Over the weekend, a doll collector named William Herrington took to the photo sharing site Flickr to upload some disturbing pics of what's supposed to be a doll of Watson's character from Beauty!
As you can tell, the exaggerated facial features look NOTHING like the gorgeous Miz Watson, and the Internet had a field day with the pic over the weekend, calling it "horrifying" and even comparing it to "Justin Bieber in a yellow dress" and Kristen Stewart when she was dying from her pregnancy in Twilight.
OH, maybe they got confused and made "Bella!" LOLz!

Paying homage to Marlene Dietrich and David Bowie, the Westworld actress didn't just look fabulous, she also had a point to make with her attire.

The 42-year-old host explained:
Sharon Osbourne Defends Mariah Carey's 'Technical Nightmare' Of A New Year's Eve Performance — But Thinks The Singer Should Have Done THIS To Save It!
On Tuesday's The Talk, the British co-host weighed in on Mimi's performance issues during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, and broke down her team's claims that the superstar was "sabotaged" with a bad earpiece.
While Ozzy Osbourne's wife felt sorry Mariah had to go through "a technical nightmare," she believed the performance could have been salvaged had the songstress explained the malfunction a bit more properly to the crowd.
The 64-year-old said:
A source close to Miz Carey told the outlet:
"He's not being brought back [in 2017] for a number of reasons."
The insider explained that one of the reasons the New York native is no longer working with her tour choreographer is because he decided to change the backup singers' positions for the New Year's Rockin' Eve performance without running it by Mimi or her team.
The confidante confessed that the Pennsylvania native had instructed the vocalists to move off the stage — placing them at the base of the risers — so there could be more room for the momma-of-two's backup dancers.

The singer has kept relatively quiet following her performance fail during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest — leaving it to her management team to come up countless excuses for the live mishap.
In the following day, Carey's team blamed the issues on a lack of sound check, a failed ear microphone, and even Dick Clark Productions for sabotaging her performance.
Now, Mimi herself is speaking out about the incident — revealing just how "mortified" she was after walking off stage!
In a new interview, the Elusive Chanteuse lightly echoed her team's claims that Dick Clark Productions was at fault for the performance fail — a dig she skillfully disguised as a compliment to the late TV legend.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she said of the New Year's Eve show:
