Alex Rodriguez is NOT going down without a fight!
In fact, it sounds like he wants to take on the MLB head-on, as sources close to the New York Yankees slugger say he's planning on suing the league unless they completely lift his 211 game suspension!
A-Rod was recently handed one of the largest bans in baseball history for his links to using performance enhancing drugs and attempting to cover his tracks, but apparently he doesn't feel the punishment fits the crime!

Yesterday, the MLB dropped an a-bomb on A-Rod and served up one of the biggest punishments in league history, banning the Bronx Bomber from baseball through the 2014 season!
Alex Rodriguez held a press conference to talk about his jumbo-sized suspension, and he says the past few months have not been easy on him!
"I just want to express to you guys and the fans of baseball that the last seven months has been a nightmare. Probably the worst time of my life, for sure. Obviously for the circumstances that are at hand, and also dealing with a very tough surgery, and a rehab program, and being 38."
The New York Yankee slugger was visibly upset throughout the conference, but it's hard to believe that he'll be getting any sympathy anytime soon!
Despite his punishment, A-Rod was actually allowed to play yesterday and hit the field for the first time since last October! He got the butterflies out of his stomach early a hit a single in his first at bat to the tune of thousand of booing fans, but he was silent for the rest of the night!
His suspension goes into effect starting Thursday, but he is expected to appeal the decision.

As we had previously mentioned, A-Rod's punishment has been expected for quite some time now after he was once again linked to the use of performance enhancing drugs and his attempts to cover up his tracks.
The league made the news official this afternoon and released a statement saying:

Major League Baseball was reportedly going to try and ban the New York Yankee from baseball for life, but since his lawyer will take the case to arbitration, the league is having second thoughts.
Well, another day technically, since he’s not really playing.
However, on Wednesday, Greg Bouris, a spokesman for MLB said that the suspensions are a ways off still, due to “a number of players” which means “a lot of moving parts.”
