Monday's jury selection for Keanu Reeve's upcoming civil trial looked more like an audition than a solemn courtroom procedure.

While most of us dread jury duty, a few lucky folks were probably more than a little pleased to see Reeves in the courtroom.

Several of the individuals said they had ties to the entertainment industry. This included, but was not limited to, a movie executive, one actress who claimed 6 degrees of separation from the Matrix star, another actress working as - you guessed it - a model/bartender, and one fellow who once did the voice for Bugs Bunny - and proved it to the courtroom.

This is LA, after all.

Which all seems wildly appropriate for a case concerning Reeves and paparazzo Alison Silva, who claims he was knocked over by Reeves' car as the actor backed out of a parking spot.

Does he really think he's got a chance in hell in celeb-friendly Los Angeles?

The pap's assault claim was already dropped in September. Now he's in for the money.

Way to waste everyone's time, Alison.

Talk about a lucky break for Keanu Reeves!

A judge in Los Angeles has dismissed assault claims against the actor by a paparazzo who was claiming Keanu hit him with his car, deliberately.

Photog Alison Silva claims he was hit by Keanu's Porsche back in March 2007 while photographing him.

Wait, who names their son Alison?

The judge declared that "There was no evidence of the slightest contact or the slightest touching." Adding that Reeves did not "act maliciously" as he pulled out of a parking space as Alison had claimed.

A paparazzi lying?

Hard to believe!

Keanu's lawyers also did a good job arguing that Alison had actually placed his hand on Keanu's car and tripped over his own feet.

What an idiot!

The judge stated that Alison could not seek punitive damages against Keanu. But nothing ends that easily.

Money-hungry Alison is continuing with a negligence claim, which will now go to trial in October.

Alison's attorney, Joseph Farzam, says "Mr Silva is still entitled to fully recover his damages for the injuries he sustained. It's much easier to prove that someone was being careless than to prove that Mr Reeves intended to harm Mr Silva."

The attorney added that Alison suffered a broken wrist when he fell, which could cause him to remain partially disabled.

As for Reeves, he confirmed in a statement that, "At no time did my vehicle make contact with Mr Silva other than when [he] bent over and placed his hand on the hood of my car."

And even after Alison fell, Keanu stopped the car and brought him some water.

That was nice of him.

Let's see who will win this case in the end! We're rooting for Reeves!

He's got a new lady "friend"!

Perpetual bachelor Keanu Reeves was spotted going for a cruise around Los Angeles on his motorcycle this past weekend.

His female accompaniment is Trinny Woodall, a British TV presenter.
