Well, this is an interesting opinion.
She explained that, even though the network pulled the plug on the singing competition, the premiere of its fifteenth installment had the best year-to-year retention in six years!
"It's been an amazing run and it's still a healthy show."
So healthy, in fact, that it doesn't seem like the judges are entirely convinced that it's actually ending! When a reporter referred to this season as the "final" season, Harry Connick Jr. was quick to correct, clarifying:
Keith Urban's father, Robert (Bob) Urban, passed away on December 5 after battling cancer. Hundreds of people came out on Thursday to pay their respects at the funeral held at the Gregson & Weight Chapel in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Bob is survived by his wife Marienne, his two sons Keith and Shane, and a total of four grandchildren including Keith and wife Nicole Kidman's daughters, Sunday and Faith — who called their late grandfather "Poppa Bob."
The 48-year-old country crooner addressed the congregation saying:
This is so sad.
In a new statement, Nicole Kidman's husband shared:
"I've been deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support that Nic and I, and our family, have received since my Dad's passing on Saturday night. His long battle with cancer is now over and he is finally at peace."
Tragic. The Raise 'Em Up performer's poppa had been battling cancer for some time.
We can only imagine what the country crooner is currently going through.
Keith Urban had a bittersweet tour of his new Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit on Wednesday.
The 48-year-old Somebody Like You singer shared the emotional news with The Tennessean:
"He's probably only got a few weeks, if that. I've just been dealing with that the last couple of days. This has all come at a very strange time where it's typical of a career that has extreme highs and extreme lows all often at the exact same time. So [the exhibit] is bittersweet a little bit because [my dad] is the catalyst for all of this. My dad is the catalyst for me living in America."
We can imagine that's incredibly difficult.
The father of two remembered going to the record store as a kid with his dad who insisted on buying a Don Williams album, just because he knew it would be good:
"I remember saying to my dad, 'Oh, what's the single off this album?' And he said, 'I don't know. I haven't heard anything off it.' And I said, 'Well, how do you know it's going to be good?' And he said, 'It's Don Williams.' And it hit me in such a way that I thought, 'Oh, I'd love to make records where people know it's going to be solid and they go out and get it.' So I want to thank them for starting me on this journey."
We're sure his dad is very proud of Urban's own legacy in the country music world!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Urban and his family during this time.

But does he have a shot at winning?!
Now, Idol is releasing the first official promo clip of 'Ye's audition, and it looks HIGHlarious!

Move aside, AMAs!
The Evening Standard Theatre Awards in London are so much fancier than you! #sorrynotsorry
The actress put everyone else to shame!
Kate and Nicole didn't have their own cleavage all over the place, but they held their own in pretty patterned dresses.
This is also Miz Beckinsale's first public appearance since news of her divorce from Len Wiseman. And she looked pretty happy!
We can't forget Keith, though — he rocked it out in a classic black suit!
Well done, guys!

We wouldn't want it any other way!
Though we're sad to see it go after what will be 15 seasons on the air, we're definitely excited about the news Ryan Seacrest just dropped!
Seacrest told Access Hollywood
