Higher ups at ABC have issued a formal apology after Jimmy Kimmel aired a sketch on his show that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way!
The Jimmy Kimmel Live skit featured a ton of cute kids discussing how to end the government shutdown, which ironically was done or nearly done by the time this skit aired, except one kid got ahead of himself and suggested the US should kill all the people in China.
That comment rubbed a lot of people the wrong way!
Here was ABC’s FULL apology:
“We offer our sincere apology. We would never purposefully broadcast anything to upset the Chinese community, Asian community, anyone of Chinese descent or any community at large. Our objective is to entertain. We took swift action to minimize the distribution of the skit by removing it from all public platforms available to us and editing it out of any future airings of the show. We hope our actions and our apology effectively address your concerns. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.”
We’re hopeful this drama comes to a swift conclusion after this sincere apology.
But maybe Jimmy Kimmel should avoid any kids in sketches for a little while.
He always gets in trouble when he brings cute kids into the fold!
