April The Giraffe's Son Has A Name -- Find Out The Young Calf's Moniker HERE!

April The Giraffe‘s baby FINALLY has a name!
As you surely know, the formerly pregnant zoo animal captured the world’s attention after her long pregnancy and false labor was live streamed across the globe. Ironically, April gave birth to her not-so-tiny calf during the month of, you guessed it, April. LOLz!

And, since the whole world tuned in to watch the young male giraffe’s birth, the zookeepers at the Animal Adventure Park decided to let the public weigh in on what to name the little guy. Fans of the mother/son giraffe pairing could submit a name suggestion as long as they also donated $1 — seems fair enough. It’s said all of the proceeds went to AAP and their conservation efforts.
Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait too long to learn about the newborn giraffe’s name as it was officially announced on Good Morning America on May 1. As revealed in the video (below), April’s son has been named Tajiri (which translates to hope in Swahili).
