Blake Lively Weighs In On The Pressure Moms Face After Giving Birth & Post-Baby Body Shamers

Blake Lively
You know the post-baby body phenomena made popular by stars like Kim Kardashian West and Kate Middleton?
Yeah, Blake Lively isn’t here for it.
During an interview with Australian morning show Sunrise, the 28-year-old admitted she doesn’t think our culture should celebrate how fast women get back to their goal weight after giving birth.

When the interviewer complimented Ryan Reynolds‘ love on how quickly Miz Lively got back in bikini-ready shape for her movie The Shallows — which started filming not long after the birth of her daughter James — the Gossip Girl alum responded:

“It’s so unfair though, because it’s so celebrated. It’s like, this is what someone can look like after a baby. I think a woman’s body after having a baby is pretty amazing.”

The expecting momma continued by making the point that new moms shouldn’t be burdened with the pressure to drop all their baby weight at the drop of a hat:

“You don’t need to be Victoria’s Secret ready right away because you just did the most incredible miracle that life has to offer. I mean you gave birth to a human being! So I would really like to see that celebrated.”

Fair enough!
The queen has spoken. XOXO.
