The 51-year-old spoke exclusively with the Today show Tuesday morning, reliving the incident and talking about how he feels after everything he’s been through.
Speaking about the severity of his condition, he said:

“I had what they call a widowmaker. And it was a 6% survival rate. And the fact that there were doctors in the gym when I had the heart attack, saved my life.”

However, he is feeling good at the moment and taking excellent care of himself too. He said:

“I feel good. I mean I’ve been doing my cardiac rehab. It’s been hugely beneficial for me. They’ve taken such good care of me. I”m feeling good. I’m taking it one day at a time. I’ve been doing exactly what the doctors tell me to do.”

But the trainer also doesn’t mince words when it comes to what he went through, saying:

“I was in full cardiac arrest. My heart stopped. I was, I mean not to be dramatic, I was dead. I was on that ground dead.”

So horrifying! It’s crazy to think that he could have lost his life if there hadn’t been doctors at the same gym to perform CPR and buy him some time before paramedics arrived.
