Kendall was breastfeeding her 4-month-old son Carter at a T.G.I. Fridays in Terra Haute, Indiana when the photo was taken. The male stranger posted the image on Facebook asking:

“I went [sic] to know if this is appropriate or inappropriate as I’m trying to eat my Fridays, there are little kids around.”

Kendall just happened to be in a local Facebook group for moms, when another member shared the image within the group.
After realizing she was the subject of the photo, the 20-year-old mom sent the photographer a direct message, and posted a lengthy open letter that criticized the man for shaming her, writing:

“While I in no way, shape, or form owe you any explanation I would like to clarify a few things. I did nothing wrong, I turned away to latch my son and pulled my shirt back up when he was finished out of respect for others in the restaurant.”

Kendall was surprised about how big the response to her letter was! She revealed:

“I never dreamed it would reach so many people.”

She shared that while the man only gave an “insincere apology”, the public response to her open letter has been 90 percent positive!

Strangely, she now says most of the backlash is coming from an unexpected source:

“Surprisingly ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ to me at least ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ what negative responses I have seen were mainly from women, and a lot of them are mothers themselves.”

She definitely has our support! Read her open letter (below!)
