This is so sad.
ICYMI: On Sunday, film legend Wes Craven passed away at 76-years-old after a battle with brain cancer. The horror expert created some of Hollywood’s most successful franchises — such as Scream and Nightmare On Elm Street.
Not to mention, Craven also forwarded the careers of A-Listers like Johnny Depp, Drew Barrymore, and Courteney Cox. What a legacy to leave behind!

So we’re not surprised that so many in the industry have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the late writer/director — including the Friends actress, Rose McGowan, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and many more.
Check out their responses below:

The 1st horror movie I ever saw was Nightmare on Elm Street. I’d see Freddy’s face in my bedroom at night for months. Thank you Wes Craven.
