Never question the sexiness of Idris Elba!
Chrissy Teigen learned that the hard way on Twitter Thursday when she was trying to support husband John Legend following his being named People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2019.
It all started when the Grammy winner gave a self-deprecating reaction to the title, sharing a geeky throwback image of himself circa 1995 and comparing it to a delectably hunky snap Elba, the 2018 titleholder, on Wednesday.

Showing a picture of himself looking very unlike the John we know (and, according to some users, looking a bit like Steve Urkel), he wrote:
“1995 John would be very perplexed to be following 2018 @IdrisElba as #SexiestManAlive. Hell, 2019 John is about as equally perplexed but thank you @People for finding me sexy. I’ll take it.”
Teigen tried to make her 40-year-old hubby feel better by demanding to see a throwback pic of the Luther star from around the same time period on the off chance that he, too, was a late bloomer.
She tweeted:

Unfortunately for the couple, the British actor has always been a total babe — and he proved it with a sexy, smouldering pic of 1995(-ish) Idris, tweeting:

The Sports Illustrated model has been celebrating her husband’s “sexiest man alive” title all week. Hours after he received the honor on Tuesday, she posted John’s new magazine cover on Twitter, writing:
“My secret is out. I have fulfilled my dream of having boned @people’s sexiest man alive!! an honor!!!!!”
Such an honor, momma even changed her Twitter bio to read:
“currently sleeping with people’s sexiest man alive”
She’s proud of the sexy man 1995 John grew up to be — and trolling the f**k out of anyone who disagrees with his title!
Soon after the announcement, the Cravings author admitted on Twitter that she was SO excited to call out John’s haters, sharing:
“I cannot WAIT for people to get mad about John being the sexiest man alive. it’s my new Starbucks holiday cup”
And she did not disappoint — the 33-year-old went on to target the user who left the following criticism:
“Wholeheartedly disagree. Highly doubt he could throw me over his shoulder when needed, or defend me better than I can.”
To which the mother-of-two replied:
“can I try to throw you”
