The Church of Satan is praising Christian Bale for giving the Dark Lord a shout-out in his Golden Globes acceptance speech.
As we reported, the Vice star won Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy at Sunday’s ceremony for playing former Vice President Dick Cheney in Adam McKay’s political satire. It was a role he gained over 40 pounds and bleached his eyebrows to play — and clearly, the physical transformation paid off.
Per Hollywood tradition, Bale was required to thank a number of powerful figures while accepting his award; namely, the director for casting him to play someone “absolutely charisma-free and reviled by everybody,” and, of course, Satan.

He quipped:
“Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration on how to play this role.”
Satan wasn’t in the Globes audience to react to Bale’s praise. However, his worshippers responded on his behalf on Twitter, writing:
To us, Satan is a symbol of pride, liberty and individualism, and it serves as an external metaphorical projection of our highest personal potential. As Mr. Bale's own talent and skill won him the award, this is fitting. Hail Christian! Hail Satan! https://t.co/ILuK8TFZXi

No argument here. The Dark Lord is clearly the way to go for anyone who wants to be their best Dick Cheney.
