Aaaaaand we’re off! The CMT Music Awards are under way!
Hosted this year by Erin Andrews and Brittany Snow, the two lovely ladies opened the show joking about their not-so-unique place in award show history, and we’ve got the video (above)!
Brittany opened the show proud, saying:
“It’s hosted this year by two ladies, and I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure this is the first time in history there are no male hosts!”
Erin had to point out that, no, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler beat them to it… and so did Kristin Bell, who hosted the CMTs last year… but besides those hosts, Brittany, we see y’all workin’!
Erin then turned her attention to Carrie Underwood, because what would the CMTs be without her golden voice and roster of hit songs?!
Erin brought out the Belmont Bellas to croon a love song to Carrie — and all female performers in country music — that was inspired by Little Big Town‘s I Got A Girl Crush.
Brittany’s attempt to make it all about her was HIGHlarious, and started the awards off on the right foot!
