Two Denver Bronco Execs Busted For DUIs -- Maybe It's NOT Just The Players!

denver broncos execs dui arrest busted alcohol

We’re always going on and on about how ridiculous it is that pro-athletes get into so much trouble, even though their lives are pretty great compared to a lot of hard working individuals in the world. Athletes work hard too, but at the end of it, they DO play a game for a living! LOLz!

So when we see sports stars getting DUIs and being arrested for murder, we can’t help but wonder what in the hell is going on!

As it turns out, they aren’t the only ones getting in trouble: the execs are too! And if you can’t lead by example, you probably shouldn’t be leading at all, or be shocked when your players make stupid life mistakes!

The Denver Broncos have just suspended two executives who are facing DUI charges!

First up was Matt Russell, who was the director of player personnel, and he was suspended indefinitely without pay. The other great role-model was Tom Heckert, and he still is the director of pro personnel — he just has to handle one whole month without pay!

Both are getting confidential treatment and counseling services by the team, which is a good thing. They also have to finish if they’re going to get back to work! There are still possible legal ramifications, too, which could affect their future employment with the Broncos!

Russell was arrested July 6 after celebrating his 40th birthday: He hit two vehicles (one was a police SUV), injuring an officer, and then blew a 0.246 BAC. If you do the math, that’s three times the legal legal limit in Colorado.

Heckert’s BAC was 0.162 seven hours after his June 11 arrest.

Here’s what the team said:

“While Matt and Tom have apologized and taken accountability, it’s most important they take advantage of whatever help they need. We will learn from this and take the necessary action as we move forward in a positive way.”

Why not just hire people who can keep their shizz together in the first place, who won’t act recklessly and put innocent lives in danger? Getting them help is FAB, it just seems like the hiring process could’ve been a little better to weed out people who do not appreciate how lucky they are!

What if these guys had killed families while joyriding under the influence? Is that who you want running your team??
