Deets From Macy's Battle Royale With Martha Stewart To Be Sealed

It’s only been a week since Macy’s notified Martha Stewart they plan to sue for breach of contract, but surprisingly they’ve already come to an agreement on one thing — they want privacy.
On Monday lawyers for both parties met in court and agreed to file papers that would keep certain details of the case confidential. The judge said we would sign off on them as soon as they were filed.
Also during yesterday’s conference, Macy’s and Martha’s lawyers spoke about certain issues of the case. Robert Micheletto told the judge Martha just renewed her contact with the department store last week and it doesn’t expire until 2018.
Stewart’s attorney Eric Seiler fired back that his client doesn’t have an exclusive deal with the plaintiff and she doesn’t intend to sell any of the good that were made for Macy’s at JCPenney‘s .
Seiler continued:

“The issue, which is a narrower issue, is the contract says that Martha Stewart, which has a standing agreement with Macy├óΓé¼Γäós, can sell goods in MSLO, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, stores, and we are creating Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia stores inside of J.C. Penney. We have the absolute right to sell whatever we want in MSLO stores.”

We have a feeling this case is going to get messy!
