Donald Trump has lost yet another lawyer.
This time, it’s Ty Cobb. The finely mustached White House lawyer is the latest to hop off the bullet train to hell, and this is big news for three reasons.
First, it hilariously disproves yet another of Trump’s public rants.

Back in March, The New York Times wrote a story reporting this might be happening soon. Trump chose to quietly neither confirm nor deny the story but rather bided his time and— nah, we’re just fucking with you.
He lied his ass off on Twitter:

…have shown conclusively that there was no Collusion with Russia..just excuse for losing. The only Collusion was that done by the DNC, the Democrats and Crooked Hillary. The writer of the story, Maggie Haberman, a Hillary flunky, knows nothing about me and is not given access.

If you’ve been following along, you know John Dowd was fired shortly after, leaving only one of the lawyers Trump was VERY happy with.
Cobb says he’s retiring and in a statement to CNN made everything sound perfectly amicable:
“I’ve done what I came to do in terms of managing the White House response to the special counsel requests. I’m extremely grateful to the President and Chief Kelly for the opportunity to serve my country.”
But multiple reporters are hearing from their sources the relationship was extremely rocky between Trump and Cobb — mostly over the president’s war with the FBI.

That brings us to reason for bigness #2…
Cobb was reportedly the voice of reason, trying to hold Trump back from mudslinging at Robert Mueller and, you know, committing more obstruction of justice on Twitter.
Not only was he the one cooperating with the special prosecutor’s office, he was trying to get Trump to finally answer Mueller’s questions.
Funny that this decision comes out right after those 49 questions leaked out (reportedly coming from another ousted member of Trump’s legal team and NOT Mueller’s pros).
It all spells out what some legal experts have been saying for months. There is no way Donald Trump will ever sit down and answer Mueller’s questions.
They can call it a “perjury trap” all they want, but the only people whose choices are perjury or confession of crimes are FUCKING CRIMINALS.

And #3, the most deliciously ironic news of all.
Just as the NYT suggested, Trump IS adding Emmet Flood to his legal team.
That means after suggesting Hillary Clinton should be locked up, after parading Bill Clinton‘s sexual misconduct accusers to the presidential debate — he’s hired the same lawyer the former POTUS used during his own impeachment hearing, when had to answer questions from special prosecutor Ken Starr.
That also means he’s preparing to fight what could be one of the biggest legal challenges in the history of the country.
Can the sitting president be subpoenaed and forced to give testimony??
We hope so. Because no one is above the law in this country.
