George Washington Chicken Nugget Sells For $8,100 On eBay

Washington Nugget
…why?
Because, apparently, people would rather bid up to $8,100 on a frozen piece of fast food instead of using that money to do ANYTHING other than waste it on a frozen piece of fast food.
As silly as it is, at least the money earned from a chicken nugget that looks kinda, sorta like George Washington (if you look at it from the right angle, in the right light) went to a good cause.
Although she didn’t know just how valuable this piece of breaded and fried chicken would eventually prove to be, Nebraska woman Rebekah Speight came across the nugget at a McDonald’s three years ago. She noticed the resemblance to our country’s first president before she was about to toss her family’s leftovers, saying:

“I looked down at the McNugget and just started laughing. I saw this portrait of George Washington staring back at me.”

She preserved the eighth wonder of the world in her freezer until she was convinced by her church to auction it off online as part of an effort to raise funds needed to send children at the Sioux City Family Worship Center to a summer camp.
Depending on who you ask, either God or the internet works in mysterious ways, but Speight is happy she could help her congregation out, saying:

“It’s not one of those things you think would get money, but people put crazy stuff on there (eBay) all the time. For me, it’s more the nature of raising money for the kids and not about the McNugget.”

In case anyone else wants to get in on this craze, we’ve had a bag of chicken nuggets that look just like Dinosaurs sitting in our freezer for 6 months. We’ll start the bidding at $4,000.
